Mylio Photos: Have I found The Holy Grail?

Lost photos

Guess what this is?

It's a wall at my local Cracker Barrel restaurant! How many times have you walked into similar places and seen the walls decorated with beautiful photographs of beautiful people?

All lost to history....

"Every man had two deaths: one when buried in the ground, and one when the last time a person utters his name."

(Marcus Aurelius...?)

How do you keep this from happening to the photographs that you've saved? How do you remember people? How do you preserve memories and photographs for generations to come?

I think I've completed my quest and found the "Holy Grail" of management and preservation for my photos and documents: Mylio Photos.

Unlocking the Power of Mylio Photos: Lessons Learned

In today's digital age, preserving family memories and managing a growing collection of photos can be a daunting task. A few years ago, after more than 30 years as an amateur genealogist, photographer, author, and project manager, I found myself facing:

  • Tens of thousands of photographs on thumb drives, external hard drives, computer and laptop hard drives, camera memory cards, and even assorted floppy drives, CDs, and DVDs!

  • Documents spread all across the same multiple hard drives and also in cloud storage sites: Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, and iCloud Drive!

  • Cloud-based digital repositories for many more thousands of my photos: Apple Photos, Google Photos, Fotki, Flickr, and multiple other photo-storage sites!

  • Hundreds of digitized copies of old 8mm movies, VCR tapes, and 35mm slides were secured in cloud-based repositories of the companies I had hired to digitize them: Legacy Box and iMemories.

  • Hundreds more photographs were on online sites like Facebook and Instagram.

  • A backup strategy that utilized large cloud backup solutions like iDrive and Backblaze, which were backing up multiple terabytes of data, and I was paying a lot of money for multiple backup solutions!

  • At least fifty different passwords for all of these online and cloud sites, PLUS the monthly and yearly subscription fees to maintain my data there!

For years, I was on a "quest" to find a solution that allowed me to consolidate all of my photos, images, and documents into one repository, with a management dashboard that worked, and a sophisticated database that was scalable and secure.

Enter Mylio Photos, a powerful system designed to simplify photo management while ensuring my cherished memories were safe and accessible.

As someone with an affiliate agreement with Mylio, I'm excited to share the features, benefits, and pricing of this innovative tool.

Some of the many features I like about Mylio Photos

1. Seamless Photo Organization

Mylio Photos offers an intuitive interface that allows you to organize your photos effortlessly. With features like face recognition, geotagging, and customizable albums, you can easily categorize and find photos based on people, places, or events. This is fun to work with, and I often spend time finding old pictures and adding geotags and implementing facial recognition!

2. Cross-Device Synchronization

One of Mylio's standout features is its ability to sync photos across multiple devices. Whether you're using a smartphone, tablet, or computer, Mylio ensures your photos are up-to-date and accessible anytime, anywhere. Currently, I have Mylio running on my iPhone and synched seamlessly to two Mac laptops, one Windows laptop, and my iPad.

3. Offline Access

Unlike many cloud-based photo management systems, Mylio allows you to access your photos offline. This feature is particularly useful when traveling or in areas with limited internet connectivity.

4. Advanced Editing Tools

Mylio Photos comes equipped with a suite of editing tools that rival those of standalone photo editing software. From basic adjustments to advanced retouching, Mylio provides the tools you need to enhance your photos.

5. Secure Backup Options

With Mylio, your photos are not only organized but also securely backed up. The system offers multiple backup options, including external drives and cloud storage, ensuring your memories are protected against data loss.

Some Benefits of Using Mylio Photos

1. Peace of Mind

Knowing that your photos are safely backed up and easily accessible provides peace of mind, especially for those with extensive collections spanning generations. I utilize two "vaults" contained in two external hard drives at home, and another vault in the cloud. All are synchronized constantly, and they all contain the original resolution copies of my images, photographs, and documents - over 125,000 and growing every day!

2. Time-Saving Organization

Mylio's smart organization features save you time by automating the sorting and categorizing process, allowing you to focus on enjoying your photos rather than managing them.

3. Enhanced Creativity

With its advanced editing tools, Mylio empowers you to unleash your creativity and bring your photos to life, whether you're a professional photographer or a hobbyist.

4. Cost-Effective Solution

Mylio offers a cost-effective solution for photo management, eliminating the need for multiple subscriptions to different services. I use the Mylio SecureCloud solution, with a 5TB cloud backup. It handles my large amount of photos and documents, and it delivers them across all of my platforms. I was also able to cancel two of my backup solutions and to just rely on Mylio.

Pricing

Mylio Photos offers a range of pricing plans to suit different needs and budgets. From a free basic plan that provides essential features to premium plans with advanced capabilities, there's an option for everyone.

The paid version starts at $25 per month. That permits you to synch across multiple devices via the internet. There is no limit on database size.

The premium plans offer additional storage, enhanced editing tools, and priority support, making them ideal for those with larger collections or professional needs. And their support model is an interesting and innovative approach.

I pay the monthly fee on an annual basis, which gets you a 20% discount, and then I added the 5TB backup and vault "SecureCloud" solution for an additional $24 a month.

Is it cheap? No. Is it worth it? For me - with all of the things I needed to consolidate and protect - Yes. No question.

And I've been around long enough to have tried most of the "cheaper" options. They don't do the job.

Conclusion

Mylio Photos is a versatile and powerful tool that simplifies photo management while ensuring your memories are preserved for future generations.

And we have not even discussed Mylio's superb Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capabilities. The OCR system does an amazing job of recognizing text in images and documents (PDFs, Microsoft Word, and text documents.)

Mylio's combination of features, benefits, and flexible pricing makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking to organize and protect their photo and documents collection.
